LOS ANGELES — Justin Bieber may be a teen idol to millions of women, but the 16-year-old Canadian star is keeping his dating life on the straight and narrow — according to his mom.
"He's expressed his desire to stay pure and honor women and treat women with respect," his mom, Pattie Mallette, said in a clip from E! special "Justin Bieber: My World," which airs on the network tonight at 10 PM. "So hopefully that stays that way."
"It's definitely hard to find a girl who really likes me for me," Bieber added in the clip. "Right now I'm so busy anyway so, just have fun, hang out with girls and stuff, try not to take it too seriously."
Hanging out with Bieber can be dangerous for members of the opposite sex — the "Baby" singer had to tell his fans "no need 4 threats" on Twitter after hanging out with Kim Kardashian at the White House Correspondents' dinner in May.
"[Kim's] a very sexy friend but a friend," he Tweeted at the time.
Bieber's hardly the first teen pop star to opt for "purity" in recent years. The Jonas Brothers wear purity rings signifying virginity until marriage, while Jordin Sparks told the audience at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards that "not everyone wants to be a slut" after host Russell Brand made a number of jokes about the JoBros' life choices. Kevin, the oldest Jonas brother, married Danielle Deleasa in December, trading in his purity ring for a wedding band.
